So we are in Los Angeles the home of Hollywood and this is what we have been upto the last few days...
Thursday March 22
We left Monterey at 9am (after having breakfast) and made a couple of stops before we stopped in a little town called Solvang where we bought some books and had a look around.. They even had a christmas shop...
We checked into our hotel about 4.30pm and we told they had a wine reception between 5-7pm where is you paid 3 bucks you could get a couple of wines....
So we went out shopping to get something we could have in the room later and Lucy went to a shop called Ross Dress for Less where she bought a couple of tops and a really nice dress then we went to the wine reception!!!!
The deal was for your 3 bucks you got one large or two small measures.. We opted for the large (which turned out to be half a pint plus!!!)... You also got nachos and freshly baked cookies for the oven.. The hotel policy was you could only pay your 3 bucks once but we had an obliging waitress who kept pouring and we gave her the 3 bucks each time as a tip.. So it was an all around win win situation..
Long and short of it, we got well and truly pissed... Think the food was ok, can't really remember..
Friday March 23
Left at 9am after brekky and drove an hour to Santa Barbara... Spent an hour or so there looking around and then we drove to Santa Monica Pier where we stopped for lunch.. It was cool and there was lots going on.. we even walked up the street where all the celebs are supposed to hang out but we didn't recognise anyone... Checked into the hotel about 4.30pm...
Out again by 6pm so we were going to a Lakers game.. yeah baby and Lee was very excited!!! Venue was only 6 blocks from our hotel so we could walk.. We got there had a mackers, bought a couple of foam fingers and took our seats abut 45 mins before the game started... We had a great time and the Lakers won..... Definately an experience to remember...
Saturday March 24
Got breakfast delivered to the room which was a nice change... We were out at 8.30am for a tour of Downtown LA and Hollywood.. Whilst we have been here before we took different routing which was good and our guide gave us lots of good commentary...
After an hour or so in Hollywood we took some of the group to Universal Studios and we have just chilled out at the hotel this afternoon.. We go to Scottsdale tomorrow, Flagstaff Monday and then Vegas where we have loads planned (we are even going to see Rod Stewart)!!!
