Howdy Partner and Flagstaff

Hello Peeps,

We are now in Flagstaff and staying on Route 66. Tomorrow we head to Vegas baby for 3 nights.. soo the last couple of days..

Saturday night we just ate at the hotel restaurant in LA called 333. Had mushroom risotto and it was very nice too.. We were up and out the next morning by 8am as we had quite a long driving day.. Again we had breakfast in the room which made a nice change..

After a couple of hours driving our first stop was Palm Springs which is where a lot of rich and gay people live (according to our tour guide)..We were there for about an hour and we had a good look around... Our lunch stop was pretty basic and short just after the Arizona border and we cruised onto Scottsdale and got to our hotel about 4.30pm..

We went out last night for an optional group meal to a place called Rustlers Roost for a western evening... Basically it was cowboy themed and we got all you can drinks wine, beers and margareitas.... Lee was trebling up at one point... We even had a chance to do some line dancing and Lucy and Jane got their groove on (see pics below)....

This morning we were again up and out of the hotel for 8am.. After a couple of hours we stopped at a town called Sedona for some food and to look around.. Then we headed onto the Grand Canyon.. We went to the South Rim which was cool (as we went to the North Rim last year) and spent a couple of hours walking part of the rim...

Then we cruised on to our hotel in Flagstaff.. This place is cool we got free meal and drinks just after we checked in which was neat.. Lie in tomorrow, we leave at 9am for Vegas baby...

Hollywood Baby !!!

Hello Everyone,
So we are in Los Angeles the home of Hollywood and this is what we have been upto the last few days...

Thursday March 22

We left Monterey at 9am (after having breakfast) and made a couple of stops before we stopped in a little town called Solvang where we bought some books and had a look around.. They even had a christmas shop...

We checked into our hotel about 4.30pm and we told they had a wine reception between 5-7pm where is you paid 3 bucks you could get a couple of wines....

So we went out shopping to get something we could have in the room later and Lucy went to a shop called Ross Dress for Less where she bought a couple of tops and a really nice dress then we went to the wine reception!!!!

The deal was for your 3 bucks you got one large or two small measures.. We opted for the large (which turned out to be half a pint plus!!!)... You also got nachos and freshly baked cookies for the oven.. The hotel policy was you could only pay your 3 bucks once but we had an obliging waitress who kept pouring and we gave her the 3 bucks each time as a tip.. So it was an all around win win situation..

Long and short of it, we got well and truly pissed... Think the food was ok, can't really remember..

Friday March 23

Left at 9am after brekky and drove an hour to Santa Barbara... Spent an hour or so there looking around and then we drove to Santa Monica Pier where we stopped for lunch.. It was cool and there was lots going on.. we even walked up the street where all the celebs are supposed to hang out but we didn't recognise anyone... Checked into the hotel about 4.30pm...

Out again by 6pm so we were going to a Lakers game.. yeah baby and Lee was very excited!!! Venue was only 6 blocks from our hotel so we could walk.. We got there had a mackers, bought a couple of foam fingers and took our seats abut 45 mins before the game started... We had a great time and the Lakers won..... Definately an experience to remember...

Saturday March 24

Got breakfast delivered to the room which was a nice change... We were out at 8.30am for a tour of Downtown LA and Hollywood.. Whilst we have been here before we took different routing which was good and our guide gave us lots of good commentary...

After an hour or so in Hollywood we took some of the group to Universal Studios and we have just chilled out at the hotel this afternoon.. We go to Scottsdale tomorrow, Flagstaff Monday and then Vegas where we have loads planned (we are even going to see Rod Stewart)!!!
