Pierre, Keystone and Cody

Howdy there partner,

I think it’s fairly safe to say we are in cowboy Country!!! The weather is hot hot hot!!! (mid 90’s) and we are in Cody, Wyoming!!

So yesterday morning (Sunday) we left our hotel at 8am.. even better though was we got breakfast included this morning so as soon as we got rid of our bags we went and had some coffee and toast.. Soon after we left our hotel we went into another time zone, Mountain Standard Time.. so we are now 7 hours behind the UK..

First stop was Badlands National Park.. We spent about 1.5 hours there.. place was amazing.. Lee wanted to climb the rocks and we got some pretty good pictures (see below)..

After Badlands we stopped in a small town called Wall for lunch, we had a subway and then we headed to Mount Rushmore which is a monument to 4 of the American Presidents, Washington, Lincoln, Rosevelt and one more who I can’t remember.. we spent a good hour there and got some good pictures..

Our hotel was only about a 10 minute drive from Mt Rushmore in a small town called Keystone.. it’s pretty nice..

This evening we went to the crazy horse memorial.. It’s a memorial for the Native American Indians that was started in 1947 and work is still ongoing.. We also had dinner there, a buffet.. and then spent some time looking around the visitors centre and the Native American Indian museum..

This morning we were up again at 6am (early morning is a killer), we had the bags outside the door and then had some coffee and brekky.. we were on the coach and off by 7.30am… It has been a long travelling day today.. we stopped at a Walmart and had lunch and had a nice stop for a loo break and we got here about an hour ago (5pm)..

We are staying in cabins which is kinda cool and the weather is scorchio!! Very very excited as we are off to Yellowstone National Park tomorrow for 2 whole days..
