Rain,Rain More Fecking Rain !!!!!!

We have had a chilled couple of days here due to the rain which started on our first night here and has been on and off ( mainly on ) ever since !!! doesnt give us a chance to sunbath on the beach!!!!!

Anyway we have made a decision on monday evening that we have had enough of travelling around on and off buses and cold hostels !!! So we have changed our plans once again and we have moved our flight to this friday afternoon at 3pm and are going straight to Sydney and thats were we are going to stop and find a job and somewhere to live we are really excited about going back to Sydney as we really loved it there... We therefor are not going to Asia at the Moment....

Bula from Fiji

Bula (think that means hello in Fiji!!!)...

We're here safe and sound... The weather in Auckland yesterday was miserable... Our flight took off on time at 6pm... Fair to say it was a bit of a bumpy ride (Lucy says that's an understatement!!!!).... Still the food (free!!!!) we got on board was very nice!!!....

Off and through immigration was a breeze and we met our driver to take us to Smugglers Cove Resort where we stayed last night... We think our driver was a fan of Michael Schumacher!!!!!!

The weather even last night was reaally hot... We had a nice drink in the bar onsite last night and then crashed eventually at 2am.... We've just had the free brekky (nothing special but hey it was free!!!!!!!)...

We're getting picked up at 10am today and we're heading 2 hours down the Coral Coast to Mango Bay Resort where we're staying for 10 days..

How's you all going...?? Sweet as????!!!!! We leave New Zealand today and are off to Fiji.. we fly at 6pm today and it's a 3 hour flight.... it's just gone 11am here and we're killing time waiting to go to the airport...

Soooo it's been a funny old week in Auckland... The cold YHA, the lovely hotel, lovely weather followed by this crap (rain) and Jacko is dead.. crikey!!!!

We went to the theatre yesterday to see a play called Four Flat Whites in Italy.... the audience were how can we put it a lot older than us and we were probably one of the lucky few there who still have our own teeth and walk without the aid of a Zimmerframe....

Whilst we were waiting to go in Lee decided he needs the toilet... so as he makes his way across the floor going to slow to try and avoid bumping into others this little old man (lepricorn size) comes crashing into him from nowhere.... No worries!!!!!!

So the announcement comes over the tannoy we can take our seats... crikey I've never seen a thousand or so people move so fast, it was like pension day at the post office!!!!! At the top of the stairs Lee encounters the same dude that bumped into him downstairs.. turns out it was a lady... The full on Beard made him think it was a man... A Little Britain sketch springs to mind!!!!!!!

Anyways the play was quite good, used the F word a lot... Afterwards we headed to the Casino to play the slots... it was actually quite boring ........

We'll try and blog from Fiji if we can but we hear it's dial up tinternet over there so who knows...

Update From Auckland...

Gday...

Hows you all going... Well it's been a busy couple of days.... Lee had jumped off the skytower and done a bungy jump off the Auckland Harbour Bridge.... Osk we (Lee!!!) made that up... hehehehehehehehe....

Actually it's been a very quite couple of days.. it's really hard relaxing in a nice hotel room!!!!! We raided the mini bar last night of wine... Crikey that's gonna hurt when we check out.. Thank god for Vasa.....

We went to the Sky Tower yesterday as we've booked tickets to go to the theatre on Saturday (to see a play called Four Flat Whites in Italy, they should change the name to Cappucinos!!).. Anyways we found the Casino in there.... It was big and Lucy was amazed!!! it's going to be fun when we go to Vegas next year!!!!

We had a girls night in last night (well that's what it was according to the film we watched on the telly called 27 dresses!!!).. Girl that's always a bridesmaid never the bride blah blah blag yawn yawn yawn... Are you alseep yet?? It was that crap we watched it again this morning!!!!!!

We've sorted out all our accomadation for our trip back to Asia and Lee is getting excited about watching Man U live (minus Ronaldo the TWAT and Tevez.. amazing how fickle footy is!!!)...

We're looking forward to flying to Fiji.. just hope the weather is good....

Father Ted's!!!!

How you all going???? Soooooo the night in the YHA was freeezziinnggg!!!!!!! Why the hell they don't put heaters in those places we'll never know....

So we checked out yesterday at 10am and headed straight for our hotel the Rendezvous to see if they would check us in early!!!! The signs didn't look too promising when the receptionist said she didn't have our booking..... "Have we got the right place" we thought to ourselves.... Anyways she was really helpful and sorted it out for us and checked us into our room on the top floor....

OMG is all we can say.... The room is so posh it's even got a phone by the bog!!!! (not sure why anyone would want to use it though) and there are buttons you can push by the door to say whether you want the room to be made up or not instead of hanging something....

Sadly we did take some pics and we'll try and get them up 2morrow......

It's got a wicked swimming pool and gym as well..... NOT IN OUR ROOM OBVIOUSLY!!!!!

Other than that we just chilled.... it's just gone 1pm here and we've only just had breakfast!!!!!

Father Ted's is a great hangout for food and drinks so it's SWEET AS!!!!!!!!

Other than that we haven't got much else to say... looking forward to heading to Fiji... Just hope the weather holds!!!!!

Auckland!!

Hi There,

We're in sunny but cold Auckland.... It's just gone 6.30 in the evening here....

Sooo last night at the hostel was a little noisy... some cheeky muppet decided to sit outside our room in the corridoor watching a horror dvd on his computer because people in the kitchen we're being too loud.. TWAT!!!!!!

Anyways after all that we slept well... A lay in this morning as the bus didn't leave until 8.30am... we stopped for brekky on the way... and cruised into Auckland about 12.30pm... We checked into the YHA and headed out into town... our YHA is up the top of a hill!!!! CRIKEY!!!!!!!!

We grabbed some lunch, grabbed a pint at the Irish bar (Father Ted's cool name!!) and the headed back to the hostel... it's effing freezing in the hostel we're seriously debating sleeping in our clothes tonight...

Anyways we're out of the YHA tomorrow and checking into a hotel for 6 days... yeeeyyyy can't wait!!!! The hostel thing is cool but sometimes it's a drag and the boredom can set in during the evening.... But the free book exchanges are cool though..

I don't think we've ever read so much in our lives.... Lee is currently reading a book a day!!!!!!

Mount Maunganui !!!!

Hi There,

Another early start this morning the bus picked us up at 8am this morning and we made our way to Mount Maunganui we stopped at a few palces on the way to drop people off and we stop off at a cool waterfall and boiling mud pools pics to follow tomorrow !!!

I believe the driver GElnn had fun driving the bus today as there was alot of ice on the roads and the bus was slipping all over the pass but Glenn being Glenn just kept saying Sweet AS Bro !!!!

We arrived in Mount Manuganui around 3.30pm went for a walk around and had a pint in the irish bar !!!! walked back to the hostel stopping at the fish and chip shop for tea mmmm was nice weird but nice needed some tommy sauce but didnt have any !!!!

We get a lay in tomorrow the bus leaves at 8.30am and we are off to Auckland not sure what to except we have heard its shit and other people have said its a small version of Sydney which we loved so hopefully we will love we have 7 days to kill so im sure we will be fine then off to fiji !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Short Stay in Napier!!!!!

Sweet as bro!!! (will explain later in post)....

We're in Napier having arrived at 3pm... The YHA is right by the seafront!!! It's a pretty old building but the rooms are big and the hostel seems pretty quiet... which is good!!!! We've just had curry for dinner again using up what leftovers we had from last nights dinner.....

Soooooo back to this morning..... After our brief stay in Wellington we were up at 7am this morning as the bus was picking us up at 8am.....

Our driver for today was called Glenn..... Glenn's every other word was "sweet as cous" or "sweet as bro"!!!! We thought Steve one of the drivers on the South Island was a bit crazy... Glen makes him look like a shrinking violet.....

First stop was climbing the Ranatuungas in the bus and stopping for a good photo opportunity at the top (see below)...

Then we went onto the Mount Bruce wildlife centre to stop off for some brekky..... Then we went to the TUI Brewery where we got 45 minutes and 3 beers for 2NZD (about 80p)... Lee thought he was dreaming... 3 beers later and a little tipsy (seem to have lost my ability to consume lots of alcohol on this trip, will need to build up my tolerance again when I get home, sorry Trevor that may mean us coming round for tea with even more bottles of red wine!!!)....

In between the "Sweet as" every other word it became clear that Glenn was about as PC as Alf Garnett!!! Of the many jokes he told us I think I'm ok putting the following on the blog without offending too many people!!!!!!

Tampax are running a special promotion at christmas replacing normal tampons with tinsel... It's only for the CHRISTMAS PERIOD!!!!

Amongst the other subjects covered in his jokes were lesbians, Japanese, French and your worst poo stories!!!!!!!!

A couple of toilet stops were had on the way into Napier, including stopping at a talking toilet that played music (I swear to god that's the truth and Lee wasn't still pissed!!!)...

We went to a shop called Warehouse (think Roys of Wroxham!!!!) where Lee got a pair of trainers (to replace the ones with holes in the top) and Lucy got a new pair of jeans.... Lucy was sooooooo excited as the pair of jeans she bought were a size 12 and they're too big for her!!!!

Well that's it for now we're off to Mount Manaagui tomorrow and then off to Auckland on Sunday... we've still got a week to kill in Auckland so we're going to stay for a few days and then see what we think.... we may head further North for a few days before we head to Fiji...

Day Trippington in Wellington

Gday....

We're still in Wellington.. We had a nice lay in this morning as no Magic Bus to get so we didn't bother setting an alarm and got up at 10am...... We had some brekky then headed over to a shopping mall to get some new books... (surprising how much we read when you've got a lot of travelling time to kill)....

Then we went to the Museum of New Zealand to have a nose around... apart from being a bit museumy!! (funny that!!!)... it was actually very good and way more interesting than the Museum of Australia we went to in Melbourne..... And the NZ one was free to get into.. We even saw an art exhibition (see below!!!)......

we headed back to the hostel for some lunch and then headed to the cinema to watch the Proposal... Film was ok but not as good as the Hangover we saw in Christchurch....

We cooked a nice curry tonight in the hostel with Poppadums, e.t.c.

We're outta here tomorrow and off to Napier... We've only got just over a week left in NZ now... We head to Fiji on June 28 for 10 days... After that we've decided to head back to Asia for a few weeks... We fly to Perth on July 9 for a few days then onto Singapore for 5 days.... We're then heading to Kuala Lumpur for a couple of days as Lee had bought tickets for a game on Man Utd's Pre Season Asia Tour.. Then we're off to Thailand for 10 days... Lazing on the beach in Phuket for a week then Bangkok....

We're finally on the North Island.... we're in the capital city of New Zealand, Wellington and I always thought it was Auckland... so this trip is educational as well...

We left the cold of Kaikoura at 8.45am this morning so we had a bit of a lay in!!!! 3 hours later on the bus (including a coffee stop) and we were at the Picton Ferry Terminal to catch the ferry over to the North Island...

We had to wait an hour or so before boarding and then we were off.... This boat was huge... even had a cinema on board....

The trip to begin with was calm but then about 45 mins in it started to get very choppy!!!!! So we headed up to the top deck to get fresh air and lark about with the camera... see below... We even saw dolphins swimming in the ocean (who needs a tour!!!!!!!!).....

We got our bags off the ferry and caught a shuttle bus to the YHA we're staying at.... This place is massive for a hostel.... 6 floors, massive kitchens... it even has a READING AND MEETING ROOM ... OOOHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The only downside is we're near the lift but you can't have everything......!!!!!! Cooked a true cheapy backpacker meal tonight pasta with just pasta sauce!!!!

We've got the whole of tomorrow to explore Wellington and then we're off to Napier early on Friday for an overnight stop...

Back In Kaikoura!!!

Its was alittle shock to the system after checking out of the Holiday Inn hotel on Monday and checking into the YHA hostel on the same day no ensuite no TV no heater in the room !!!!! not good but its was only for one night....

We went to see The Hangover film on Sunday it was fantastic very very funny we recommend it to everyone !!!! after seeing the film cant wait to go to Vegas !!!!!!!

We left Christchurch this morning (alarm went off fine this time around !!!! ) the bus picked us up at 8am and we arrived in Kaikoura at 11.45 there is alittle snow around the pics below show the snow on the mountains it looks lovely the pics are the view from outside our room we are staying in the dusky lodge we have a double room with ensuite and TV and HEATER !!!!!!!!

We went to get some lunch chips !!!!MMMMMMMM took them back to the lodge to eat, we were sitting in the lounge eating them when the fire alarm goes off for a second we sit and do nothing then i think we should really go outside as it didn't go off we took our chips with us !!!! standing outside the lodge freezing our backsides off the firemen arrive !!! and after about 20 mins they let us back in not sure what happen but the building seems OK !!!!!

We are off to the north island tomorrow we leave here at 8.40 on the magic bus drive to picton and then get on a ferry from picton to wellington the ferry crossing takes three hours Lucy is not looking forward to the ferry trip !!!!!

Update From Christchurch

Gday...

Thought we'd just say hello!!!!

Nothing to report!!! We're having a very busy I mean BLOODY LAZY weekend in Christchurch.... We're going to the cinema today to see the HANGOVER... apparently it's supposed to be really funny!!!!!

We check out of the hotel tomorrow and back to the YHA's for a couple of weeks....

Dejavu!!! We're in Christchurch again!!!!

Gday...

We're back in Christchurch again... It's a lot warmer than when we were last here and the accomadation is a lot better!!!

Last night at the hostel was cool we just hung out and chat with the others staying there ... The Scottish guy staying there was a little mental.. Apparently he had ADHD, that explained a lot!!!!!!

We left at 8.30am this morning (so a lay in!!!)... We're staying in a Holiday Inn.. Crikey it's luxury.. 2 double beds, massive tv and a bathtub (by Lucy's reaction to the bathtub you'd thought we had won the lotto!!!!! it's the little things you miss when you're in hostels!!!)...

so we're here until Tuesday... and then we head to Kaikoura (again!!!) and then onto the North Island....

Not got too much planned for this stay in Christchurch, just chill out for a few days before hitting the road and hostels again!!!!

So don't be alarmed if we don't post to the blog for a couple of days... we'll prob just do one before we leave....

Ola,

Hows it going? we're in Lake Tekapo.... Sooooooo..... we had a nice dinner of stir fry with beef last night..... Lee put loads and loads of curry powder in the meal... and we all know what the after effects of that are don't we...?????? nuff said!!!!!... fair to say that Lucy wasn't impressed and hurricane Beard was in the neighbourhood last night!!!!

We left at 8am this morning on our Magic Bus .. destination Lake Tekapo..... Only a small group of 10 on the bus today most of whom we'd seen before on our travels.....

First stop Baldwin Street and a climb up officially the steepest street in the world... (see pics and video below!!!).... Next stop brekky via the beach with big stones... We had posh bacon and eggs for brekky on toast (French bread).... which was v nice though Lucy did remark

"What's all this Green shit (salad and herbs) on my plate?"!!!!!!!

Next stop Lake Putaki where we stopped off for lunch by the lake... the views were good...

And then onto Lake Tekapo.... We're staying at the YHA.... It's very small (only 8 rooms) and there are only about 10 of us in the hostel tonight!!!! We're literally right on the lakefront and the views are great!!!! We've just had a nice dinner of jacket potatoes with chilli (more curry powder... CRIKEY!!!!!).....

We're only here for 1 night and back to Christchurch tomorrow for the weekend (we're staying in a holiday inn.. yey!!!!!! no more midnight treks to get to the bathroom!!!!)..... and then early next week we're off to the North Island... first stop Wellington and then we work our way up to Auckland...

A Quiet Day In Dudedin !!!!!

Not much to report we had a lay in we went from breakfast which was nice.... Went shopping in town needed to buy some Hand cream we went to local supermarket as its cheaper they had two different types both Nivea 1 was normal hand cream and the other had Q10 anti aging formula in both were on offer very cheap !!!!! Lee made a joke which i didnt think was funny he said shall we buy some of the anti aging one and send it home to your mother !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (only joking Shirley)

We went to mcdonalds for lunch and we saw Ronald Mcdonald Lee was like a big kid getting all excited he even took a pic see below....

We then went to the Cinema and saw I Love You Man it was fantastic film very very funny i recommend it to all !!!!!!!

We leave here tomorrow and we travel to Lake Tekapo for one night !!!!!

The Last Two days

Hiya,

Sorry for the lack of posy yesterday... we had majorly slow wi-fi last night so we gave up in the end as it got sooooooo frustrating.... soooooo what have we been upto in the last couple of days....

Well we left Frans Josef very early on Monday morning at 7.30am...... to catch a bus to Queenstown the adventure and party capital of the South Island apparently .. woooo hoooo....!!!!!!!

The last few days we had Rick as our Magic Bus Driver but for the trip to Queenstown we had Steve.... He's very funny but in amongst all the stuff he tells us about places we stop he makes up alot of bullshit so you never know what's true and what isn't!!!!!

First of we stopped at Lake Matheson for brekky!!!! Unfortunately there was lots of fog over the lake which made for good pics of the mountains and walking over the bridge was fun (see pics below!!!!)....

We stopped off in Wanaka to drop some people off and have some lunch...... We've noticed a rather disturbing trend in most of the sovenuir shops we go into... They all seem to be selling an abundance of possum hair warmers for various parts of the body (nipples, willies e.t.c.)... Either it's just really cold in the winter or the kiwis have a big Possum fetish thing going on here (in addition to the Sheep!!!!!)...... They're worse than the Welsh apparently over here!!!!!!

Next stop the AJ Hackett Bungy bridge... no one did the jump but we watched a couple of others do it and filmed them (see below)...

We rocked into Queenstown about 5.30pm... Initial impressions weren't that great so we decided to only stay one night instead of the planned 2..... We had a walk about town and found a Paddy pub where we could get Guinness and stodge... Just what you need when it's really cold!!!!!.... We were staying at a place called the Southern Laughter Lodge.... It even had an ensuite FREEZER, I mean bathroom and a tv!!!!!!!

We left Queenstown at 8am this morning for the drive to Dunedin!!!! The drive was pretty dull, lots of hills, followed by more hills, then some sheep, followed by more hills (you get the picture!!!!)....

We got here about 1pm and are staying at the local YHA!!!! it's like the other YHA's we've stayed at and we like it!!!!!! We're here for a couple of days.... Dunedin is called the Edinburgh of New Zealand.. it's main street is even called Princes Street... so far so good we like it!!!!

This afternoon WE WENT ON A TOUR OF THE CADBURY'S FACTORY!!!!!! It was wicked.. the smell was amazing and we got loads of free chocolate!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Plenty of pics below... check out the attractive head gear as well... Lee looks like a right tit!!!!!

Well that's it for now!!!! We've got the whole day free in Dunedin tomorrow... Not sure what we're gonna do yet... Bye for now.. gotta go and eat Lucy's stash of choccy as I've already eaten mine.... Can't repeat what Lucy has just said to that... something about OFF!!!!!!!
