Hello everyone,
We are now in Wellington the capital of New Zealand. This is what we have been up-to the last couple of days...
Monday February 27
Then we were on the road for a couple of hours until we got to a small town called Waitomo which is famous for its caves and glow-worms... we went for a little walk around, chilled out and played some cards and went to a pizzeria for lumch which was ace..
In the giftshop we bought a keyring and Lee also found some very interesting shower gel.. see pics below!!! FILTHY!!!
Then we headed on for a bit and did a supermarket stop and Matt (our Magic Bus driver) bought some beers for us to drink on the bus.. top bloke!!! We then went into the National Park and stopped off at a couple of places, one of which was called "Whakapapa" but they pronounce the W as a F so it becomes "Fhakapapa".. all very amusing..
Tonight we are staying at a YHA with a climbing wall inside (I kid you not!!!) they we have to walk through to get to our room!!! Only here for 1 night and then off tomorrow to Wellington the capital of NZ... Should be fun..
We cooked for tea tonight, had potatoes, tuna, cheese and salad, was lovely!!!
Tuesday February 28
A lay in today yey!!! as we didn't have too leave until 8am.. We got up and had some brekky and then loaded out stuff onto the bus..
We stopped off after a couple of hours to grab coffee and some sandwiches for lunch as we had a longish drive today..
We finally got into Wellington about 2ish and went for a little tour of the city and to top of Mount Rupatehu which had some fantasic views of Wellington and then we checked into our YHA..
They have a curry night here tonight 9 NZ Dollars for a curry, rice and naan bargain so we have gone for that!!! So that is us done for the North Island for now, we get the ferry tomorrow morning at 8.25am over to the South Island...
We are coming back to Wellington in a couple of weeks for 2 nights so we will get more time then to have a look around..
