Gday...
DC loved your comment yesterday about Nemo.. We can offically confirm after a 4 year search that started with Lee making a very drunken phone call from the Sewell Barn Theatre in Norwich to a local pizza joint enquiring as to Nemo's whereabouts we have finally found him 12000 miles away in the Ocean.... Sorry only the TAFNA 6 will really understand what we're talking about....
Anyways back to today we were going on a cheap tour today with Stu a local guy from Cairns... so he picks us up at 10am from our hostel JJ's... First stop a lookout point from Cairns... we thought we were in for an interesting day when our tour guide starts driving quite fast on a windy road... Still go with the flow and the view and the pics were good...
Next stop the rainforest.... for a LITTLE EASY GENTLE WALK..... The tour leaflet said there would be some easy walking... It's very hot here today so we were shorts, tshirt and thonged (flip flops) up....
Turns out our gentle walk was over some hard to climb rocks.. which was cool except we weren't really dressed for it.. Anyways Lucy slipped off one of them and banged her arse and leg.. and then Lee cut his big toe trying to get down off the rock to help... nothing major but plenty of blood!!!! Tour guide said to Lucy anything broken... just as Lee slips down from the rock onto her hand... I would tell you what she said but trevor (lucy's dad) wouldn't be impressed so I won't!!!!! hehehehehehe...
Next a walk on the other side of the rainforest and up to a creek that you weren't allowed to swim in... Anyways the tour guide ignores it and jumps in... Kinda irresponsible really cos if one of the French guys who followed him would have hit a rock it would've hurt!!!! On the way back we discovered a big iguana in a bin... Stu picked it up by the tail and spun it around.... this thing went mental and was trying to bite him.... Unfortunately he missed and Stu had his Steve Irwin moment!!!!!
We then had some lunch at a nice cafe near Lake Placid... some went for a swim.... Lee went for a couple of beers!!!!!!!!!!!!
We then drove to a bridge which had amazing views of a waterfall..... (we'll get the pics up from Melbourne!!!).... Last stop Trinity Beach... you can't really swim in Cairns in the seas as if the sharks don't get ya the jelly fish will and if they don't then the stingrays will...
We're off out for some dinner now and then tomorrow morning we fly to Melbourne for 10 days.. Lucy can't wait as it's the Ramsay Street Neighbours tour!!!! hehehehehehehehe (actually it's Lee that keeps going on about it!!!).... But we have been watching some Neighbours here on Channel 10...
Lots of Love
Lucy and Lee xx
