Yellowstone Park

Hello Peeps,

We had a lay in this morning WOW that’s a rare thing !!! didn’t have to be on the coach until 7.45 this morning, last night was strange staying in a wooden cabin the lights kept flicking on the air con unit kept making funny noises like someone is inside peddling the fan lol manage to fall asleep all ok apart from 2am in the morning the alarm clock in the cabin went off I’ve never seen lee jump out bed that quick before couldn’t see the off button so he ripped the power lead out of the wall socket said a few choice words and got back into bed we laugh about it today but then was not funny took about an hour to fall back asleep again.

First stop this morning was a visit to Buffalo Bill Historical Centre that was really good see pics below spent a couple of hours there then heading towards Yellowstone National Park we arrived around lunch time and spent 6 hours driving around seeing various places within the park waterfalls and geo thermal pools and we saw lots Elks and Buffalos still yet to see a bear but we have the whole day tomorrow to see one hopefully…. Back on the coach tomorrow 8am for more sightseeing within the national park our hotel is just outside one or the entrances of the park.

Lots of Love
Lee and Lucy xxxx

Pierre, Keystone and Cody

Howdy there partner,

I think it’s fairly safe to say we are in cowboy Country!!! The weather is hot hot hot!!! (mid 90’s) and we are in Cody, Wyoming!!

So yesterday morning (Sunday) we left our hotel at 8am.. even better though was we got breakfast included this morning so as soon as we got rid of our bags we went and had some coffee and toast.. Soon after we left our hotel we went into another time zone, Mountain Standard Time.. so we are now 7 hours behind the UK..

First stop was Badlands National Park.. We spent about 1.5 hours there.. place was amazing.. Lee wanted to climb the rocks and we got some pretty good pictures (see below)..

After Badlands we stopped in a small town called Wall for lunch, we had a subway and then we headed to Mount Rushmore which is a monument to 4 of the American Presidents, Washington, Lincoln, Rosevelt and one more who I can’t remember.. we spent a good hour there and got some good pictures..

Our hotel was only about a 10 minute drive from Mt Rushmore in a small town called Keystone.. it’s pretty nice..

This evening we went to the crazy horse memorial.. It’s a memorial for the Native American Indians that was started in 1947 and work is still ongoing.. We also had dinner there, a buffet.. and then spent some time looking around the visitors centre and the Native American Indian museum..

This morning we were up again at 6am (early morning is a killer), we had the bags outside the door and then had some coffee and brekky.. we were on the coach and off by 7.30am… It has been a long travelling day today.. we stopped at a Walmart and had lunch and had a nice stop for a loo break and we got here about an hour ago (5pm)..

We are staying in cabins which is kinda cool and the weather is scorchio!! Very very excited as we are off to Yellowstone National Park tomorrow for 2 whole days..

Lots of Love
Lucy and Lee xxxx

Minneapolis and Pierre

Hello

Day 2 in Minneapolis had a little lay in didn’t have to be on the coach until 9am for our city tour which lasted around 2 hours or so we saw the cathedral and a few sculptures not sure what they were or what they are for all I could think about was the Mall Of America and what shops they may have !!!! we also stopped and saw the capital building these capital buildings we have seen in capital cities of each state we have been in its where the state governments do business there are beautiful buildings the guys that design them are very clever people…

After the city tour we headed the Mall Of America it was massive 4 floors of shops and restaurants and still I can’t believe there was a theme park in the middle of the shopping mall crazy but the four hours went buy so quickly but I did manage to buy a hand bag and a t-shirt and jewellery and keying I was very happy with our shopping trip we also managed to have lunch and a coffee whilst we were there.

The coach picked us up at 3.30 pm got back to the hotel around 4pm had time to relax after all that shopping and get showered and dressed for dinner we were going out for a group meal on the Mississippi River boat the wine was good but the food was crap !!!! we had buffet style dinner we were not the only group on the boat probably around 150 ish luckily they sent one table at a time to the buffet table but the food was not good we have salad bowl , mixed veg, cannelloni stuffed with cheese, and some kind of meat with gravy and veg but that tasted like fish to me not good at all but never mind we had to eat it we were hungry oh the best but was cupcakes for dessert they were nice the cruise lasted 2 hours we to the hotel around 9.45 ish.

Early start today had to be on the coach at 7.30 this morning making our way to Pierre in South Dakota on the way we stopped at a corn factory, called the Corn Palace in Mitchell. We had some lunch (nachos, bbq pork sandwich and corn on the cob).. This evening we got to our hotel about 6pm and went for a little walk around the town and got some tea from the local supermarket, hot chicken, salad and a bottle of vino..
Off again tomorrow to Keystone, busy day tomorrow, Badlands National Park, Mount Rushmore and Dinner and a visit to Crazy Horse in the evening… yee haahh!!
Lots of Love
