Madrid Baby!!

Hola,

We checked out of the hotel at the airport and made our way into the centre of Madrid to the group meeting point hotel and i must say we did it with no problems at all and didnt get lost of go in the wrong direction, the metro station was about 15 minutes walk from the hotel, we had to change trains once but took around 40 minutes in all and the hotel was 10 mins walk from there easy !!!!
we went for a little walk once we had checked in but it started raining and then thunder and lighting and people you know me (lucy) it scares the shit out of me so we made our way back to the hotel.!!!!
We had our group meeting at 6pm monday evening in the lobby there is 21 people to start with good bunch of people too, we had a chat the tour leader explain whats gonna happen over next few days and then we headed out for a group meal, first stop a drink in a irish bar !!! was nice the group had a chance to chat over a drink, we were in the centre on madrid which is called sol which is where you may have seen the tents and protestors on the news mental around that area,
the meal we had was three courses made by the tour company and we just had to pay for drinks which is cool for our meal lucy had Mushrooms Casserole to start and lee had mixed paella both were massive for starters !!! main course lucy had grilled lamb chop (mmmmmmmmm) and lee had ostrich !!! i know i know mad man but to be fair it look and tasted very much like steak we didnt have a dessert we were to full just a coffee after the meal some of the group went on for more drinks but we came back to hotel glad we did they didnt get in til 2am !!! we had a 9am couch our of the city today !!!!!!
They took us around the sights for an hour and then dropped us off at Sol.. we decided to go for a coffee and then went for a tour of the Royal Palace.. bloody massive.. unfortunately they wouldn't let us take any pictures inside, shame cos some of the rooms were amazing.. god knows what the place must be worth if it went on Right Move!!!
After that we took the Metro back and has a siesta.. in the afternoon we went to the santiago bernabeu stadium - home of Real Madrid, took some pics and had some tapas..
Tonight we just had a cheap eat and bought a bottle of wine for a euro and took it back to the room (wine is so frigging cheap in Spain it's great)...
We leave at 8.30am tomorrow morning and are heading to the Orange Blossom Coast.. we are stopping off at Valencia for lunch.. only one night at Orange Blossom before we head to Barcelona Thursday for 3 days.

PS - The Metro is Madrid undergdound train system.. bloody brilliant and so easy to get around. Having some wi-fi issues at the moment so will get some pics up of Madrid as soon as we can..

Ola from Madrid

Ola,
Just a quick note to let you know we are in Madrid. We got to Almeria airport in plenty of time, the check in staff thought we were Spanish (took it as a compliment) and then our flight was delayed by half hour. Annoying but every cloud and all that at least we didn't have to listen to that crappy music telling us another flight had arrived on time. We're staying just outside the airport tonight so nice short taxi journey. Checked in and had a slap up meal from the petrol station of sarnies, crisps and a carton of wine... We head into the city tomorrow and meet up with our tour group.

Goodbye Roquetas

Hola,
So this is our last little blog from Roquetas.. We leave today, we're getting picked up at 4pm and then have a flight to Madrid at 6pm tonight...
So the last week, a lot of late nights, the odd drink (or ten).. we came last in the quiz We had a lovely meal at Flamingo's on Friday night with Jane, Keith and Patsy....
Had a stonking hangover Saturday, watched Man U lose Sat night (best team won).. Just got time for a Roast dinner today and then on to Madrid to start our Europe tour.

OLA!!

Hello \ Ola

not much been happening over the last few days Sophie has gone home :( :( missing her loads it was great fun having someone to eat big ice creams with and stuff are face with pick n mix sweets !!!!!.
i (lucy) went shopping with jane and patsy (Jane's friend in spain) on friday had a great time walking around parts of roquetas id not seen before. and of course spent alittle money on a new handbag !!!!!.
had a BBQ with jane and keith friday evening which was nice apart from it raining just as we lit the bbq but only lasted 10 mins.
and tonight (saturday) me and lee have just had a lovely meal at our regular bar next to the beach lovely evening over looking the sea.
cant believe we only have one week left here and then off traveling doesnt time fly when you are having fun.!!!!!!
it was nice to talk to you tonight mum (shirley) and catching up on whats been happening.
well i think thats prob about it nothing else to tell you oh well we are booked in for sunday lunch tomorrow mmmmmmm roast beef and veg cant wait. !!!!!!!!

Ola Amigos, thought we would put some more pics on... So the last couple of days.. The girls have been to the aquarium... We went to a nice restaurant called Flamingos last night (Monday) where as you can see below you don't get short changed for food.. We're playing bingo this afternoon. Sadly Sophie leaves us this evening..

Thought we would put another blog on... So what have we been upto... Well Sophie arrived safe and sound in Almeria.. We had a bbq last night at ours yesterday (see all the pics below).. Today I watched Man U win the league, get in..Man City win the FA Cup (not so good).. We're currently watching Eurovision.. what a load of shite..

Ola,
Been a few days since we have last posted so we thought we would put another post on. We haven't been upto that much the last few days, just chilling out. We went out to the local market today, well Jane and Lucy went and me and Keith went and drunk beer. Sophie is coming over for a few days today which will be good. Eurovision this weekend which basically is an excuse to listen to crap music and drink.. lol

Thought we would try and keep the posts asd regular as possible.. So what have we been upto.. well Lee has been nursing his sunburn (see pics below).. we did a shopping trip at the local gran plaza to fill up the fridge with all the important things (San Miguel)..

Jane and Keith came over for a barbeque on the balcony and got a little bit tipsy (see pics below)..

That's about it really were gonna get out and about next week on some day trips..

Though we would post a little update..
So the last 2 days.. We did the Spinny's quiz and came second (though we should have won.. long story!!). We watched Man U batter the Germans, bring on Barcelona...
Lucy has had a spot of Delhi Belly.. Lee sat on the balcony and his legs now look like a pair of lobsters.. he got a little bit of sunburn!!
The weather is still fab, a little windier for now.

Ola all..

We are here in Sunny Spain.. Journey was lovely and smooth yesterday and we got here about 10pm local time last night..

Just been chilling out today... sitting in the sun as we write having some tapas..

The weather is cracking.. The apartment we are staying at is great, nice big balcony...
